Why are some companies cheaper? What's the difference?
Like anything else there are more inexpensive options, but in this business there is no way to get around the adage "You get what you pay for". Some companies will place up to 1000 accounts on a server - this means you share that computer with 1000 other sites, and your sites performance will suffer. Pages will be sent slower and you'll lose customers. Some companies oversubscribe their bandwidth. That simply means they sell more bandwidth than they have, and hope you don't use it all. Peak hours are in the evenings for your website, and if you don't have enough bandwidth - you guessed it - really slow sites. The host’s costs are less, so your cost is less, but so is your performance. Finally, knowledgeable tech support is key, even if a host has 10 people; if they don't know what they are doing, nothing will get resolved.

How is the Connecticut Hosting Network different and are we worth it?

We know how many sites to place on a server so that it never gets overloaded - especially at your critical peak usage hours. We have burstable bandwidth - that means we have bandwidth in reserve for large spikes in traffic and more than enough for all our clients. Will you pay a little more with CT Host? Yes, but lose just one customer a month because you went with a cheaper host and you already have lost more than you saved....how often will you wait for a slow site? not very long, neither will your customers and visitors
